The Lymphatic System Does Its Work After You've Done Yours
The lymphatic system helps manage fluid balance, which is part of how the body heals after surgery. Unlike blood, lymph has no pump. It relies on movement and external pressure, and many patients move far less while they recover. That’s why lymphatic support features in so many post-op protocols.
Fluid Balance
Lymph carries excess fluid away from tissue. Flowpresso’s sequential compression is designed to encourage that natural flow.
Movement Is Limited
Patients often can’t walk, exercise or move freely in the weeks after a procedure. Flowpresso provides external pressure while they rest.
Comfort and Calm
Recovery can be uncomfortable and stressful. Many patients describe the warmth and deep pressure of a session as deeply relaxing.
Whole-Body, Not One Area
Lymph drains toward central pathways in the trunk. Flowpresso works the whole body rather than a single limb or treatment area.
Keep Post-Op Care In-House. Without Adding Hours.
Stop Referring Out Recovery Care.
Many practices send patients elsewhere for post-op lymphatic support, so that relationship and revenue leave the building. Flowpresso lets you offer it in your own practice, under your own protocol.
Hands-Free. No Therapist Required.
Manual lymphatic drainage needs a trained therapist for every minute. A Flowpresso session runs automatically for 40 minutes once your team sets the patient up.
Package It Into the Procedure.
Include a set number of sessions in your surgical package, or sell recovery packages separately. Patients get a more complete recovery experience. You get a clear point of difference and a reason to see them more often.

SURGERY IS ONLY HALF THE JOURNEY
Built Into Your Protocol, From Consult to Follow-Up
You and the treating surgeon set the timing and frequency. These are the points where practices most often build sessions in.
BEFORE SURGERY
Start the relationship early
Sessions in the lead-up help patients arrive relaxed, and introduce them to the recovery routine before they need it.
DURING RECOVERY
Once the surgeon clears it
A scheduled series as part of your post-operative care plan. Sessions begin when the operating surgeon says so, over the areas the surgeon specifies
ONGOING WELLNESS
Keep them coming back
Many patients return after recovery, as a standalone service or a membership.
After Breast Surgery, Lymphatic Pathways Matter Even More
Breast procedures, especially those involving the axillary (underarm) lymph nodes, can disrupt the pathways that drain the chest, underarm and arm. With fewer routes for fluid to follow, many patients describe swelling, tightness or heaviness in these areas during recovery.
Why the Underarm Matters
The axillary lymph nodes are a major drainage hub for the breast, arm and upper trunk. When nodes are removed or disturbed, lymph from these areas has to find other routes.
Less Movement, Less Natural Flow
Patients often limit arm and shoulder movement after breast surgery. That reduces the muscle movement lymph relies on to keep flowing.
Why Central-First Matters
Lymphatic drainage approaches generally clear central pathways in the trunk first, so fluid from the affected area has somewhere to go. Flowpresso’s whole-body sequence was designed with this in mind. [Add source.]
Complements Your Existing Protocol
Flowpresso can sit alongside compression garments, manual lymphatic drainage and physical therapy, as directed by the treating surgeon.
Patients who have had lymph nodes removed need individual assessment. Suitability, timing and frequency are the treating practitioner’s decision, in line with the device’s labeling and contraindications.
Practice Spotlight
How a Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon Built Flowpresso Into His Recovery Stack
Dr. Robert Whitfield, a board-certified plastic surgeon in Austin, Texas, doesn’t leave recovery to chance. His practice runs a dedicated, five-station recovery protocol for surgical patients, and Flowpresso is one of its core stations, with three units in the practice.
Three things other practices can take from his model:
- Recovery is part of the offer. His recovery stack is built into tiered surgical packages, so recovery care is something patients choose and pay for when they book their procedure.
- Sessions are stacked, not stand-alone. Patients use a breathing-based device at the same time as their Flowpresso session, making the most of each 40 minutes in the chair.
- Capacity matches demand. Three units let the practice schedule several post-op patients at once without bottlenecks.
- Surgery is just the first step. Your body needs targeted support to heal, especially in the first 72 hours. Dr. Robert Whitfield developed the Recovery Stack, a five-modality protocol designed to support optimal recovery when it matters most. — Dr. Robert Whitfield, Board-Certified Plastic Surgeon, Austin, TX

Frequently Asked Questions
How soon after surgery can a patient use Flowpresso?
That’s always the treating surgeon’s decision. Practices set their own protocol based on the procedure, the patient and the device’s labeling.
Are there patients who shouldn't use it?
Yes. Flowpresso has contraindications listed in its labeling, and the treating practitioner decides suitability for each patient. [Link to the contraindications summary or user manual if it can be public.]
Does Flowpresso replace manual lymphatic drainage?
No. It’s a different modality. Some practices use both, others use Flowpresso where staffing makes manual work hard to offer. The treating practitioner decides what each patient receives.
Does it need a therapist in the room?
No. Once your team sets the patient up (under 2 minutes), the 40-minute session runs automatically. Supervision follows the device’s labeling and your state’s rules.
Which procedures do practices use it with?
[Confirm with sales. e.g. liposuction, body contouring, abdominoplasty and other aesthetic procedures, as decided by the treating surgeon.]
Is it covered by insurance?
Most practices offer Flowpresso as a self-pay service or include it in the procedure fee. Talk to your billing advisor about your practice.
How do practices price it?
Common models are a set number of sessions included in the surgical package, a separate recovery package, or per-session pricing. Use the calculator above to model each.
How much space does it need?
A treatment room with space for a treatment table and the unit. [Confirm footprint and power requirements.]
What does it cost, and is financing available?
Book a discovery call for current pricing. Financing is available, including options with no payments for the first 6 months.
What training and support do we get?
Full staff training, a dedicated support contact, the marketing resource portal and ongoing operational guidance.
