FAQs Flowpresso

It’s a breakthrough, non-invasive natural therapy that enhances overall health which delivers a 3-in-1 sensory treatment, comprising: Compression, Heat and Deep Pressure. This unique combination of therapies operates simultaneously to enhance lymphatic circulation, improves recovery, and promotes relaxation at a cellular level.

Flowpresso® utilizes heat in the four primary garment sections to embrace the body with a gentle, healing, warmth, creating a comforting environment that allows the body to finally rest and relax. The Flowpresso® warmth and temperature range are designed to encourage relaxation and sleep, promote circulation, and support recovery.

Thermotherapy is safe for most users, but there are certain conditions that can be a contraindication that may mean it is not suitable for some users. There is a temperature setting button which can be increased or decreased.

Yes it can be adjusted, this can be turned on/off in four separate sections: feet, legs, trunk and arms.

Research has shown heat can improve blood flow; increase lymphatic drainage, muscle relaxation, pain relief and improved immune response. Flowpresso’s integration of heat offers a more comprehensive approach, addressing not only the circulatory system but also promoting relaxation, and recovery.

Yes the client has the option to have the heat adjusted across the four sections.  In summer it is usually removed from extremities to avoid the client getting too hot or sweating.

Temperature setting range: 95°F – 104°F

Temperature setting range: 35°C – 40°C

Yes it can.

Definitely, the heat encourages circulation which helps release the build-up of toxins like lactic acid as well as puts the body into a ‘rest and restore’ state to enhance recovery.

It is usually delivered for the full 40 Minute sessions.

The material used is PVC and has gone through extensive testing to ensure its safetyRefer here for further information.

FAQs Individually Adjustable Compression Settings

Yes, but it is bilateral so for eg. the right foot will receive the same pressure as the left foot.

It ranges from 0-20 – which is the time the pressure is delivered to the bodyThe lower the number the lower the range of pressure that is appliedFlowpresso has a range of 20-130 mm/Hg.

There are no predefined programsThe ability to adjust each compression chamber means that the patient has a tailored treatment to target specific areas more effectively, ensuring that they receive the optimal level of compression and heat, where it’s needed most.

Yes you are able to do real-time adjustments.  This allows for immediate changes based on patient feedback or therapeutic requirements. This adaptability ensures that the therapy remains comfortable and effective throughout the session.

A Flowpresso Technician will initially set certain base settings depending on your health issuesThey will then increase or decrease these settings, based on your feedbackThe guide for the correct settings is based on whether it feels like a hug as opposed to a blood pressure cuff squeeze.

Flowpresso doesn’t have the ability to save this dataWe recommend you use a ‘client intake form’ and record the date/settings of each session.

By targeting specific areas with varying pressures, Flowpresso can address areas with lymphatic blockages or fluid accumulation more effectively, potentially leading to faster and more noticeable results.

Yes but the general guide is the pressure should feel similar to a hug, with no discomfort.

YesUsing the Sports Mode the compression can feel stronger due to its compression sequence being a delivery where each section holds after inflation and when all chambers are inflated, release at oneThe sports mode delivers a more dynamic experience to increase circulatory flow.

Yes it can.

FAQs Flowpresso Research and Benefits

Yes

A post graduate thesis was completed: Under-Slept and Over-Anxious – The Effects of Cyclical Deep Pressure Applied by the FLOWpresso® on Sleep and Anxiety

(Ally Parkes, Desiree De Spong, Martyn Beavan, Te Huataki Waiora School of Health, The University of Waikato; Medella Health Ltd, New Zealand)

There was a positive outcome in improving subjective sleep quality in up to 92% of the first responders in Study A and 77% in Study B. Across both studies, sleep improved by 25%, was statistically significant (p < 0.001), with the effect sizes for both studies being large (d > 1.05), making it clinically relevant.

Study A: 87 Candidates

92% of the participants reduced their sleep disturbance scores

61% of participants had reduced stress scores

53% of participants had reduced anxiety score

61% reported improved feelings towards their overall health and wellbeing

Study B: 86 Candidates

77% of participants reduced their sleep disturbance scores

63% of participants had reduced their stress score

55% of participants had reduced anxiety scores

50% had improved feelings towards their health and wellbeing.

FAQs Flowpresso Full Body Application

Yes, it is a full-body suit, covering the legs, feet, arm, back and torso for a systemic therapeutic experience.

A full-body application ensures that the entire lymphatic system is stimulated simultaneously. This can lead to a more comprehensive and holistic treatment, addressing the entire body rather than just specific parts.

With a full-body application, there’s no need to switch between different parts or sessions. This ensures consistent therapy without interruptions, leading to potentially better results.

There are customisable pressure settings that can be applied to each chamber.
There are two separate pre-programmed modes (sports and relaxation), different cycles that can deliver an individualised experience for each patient.

A full-body treatment can offer a more immersive relaxation experience, as the entire body is enveloped and treated simultaneously.

The integrated heat in Flowpresso can be distributed uniformly across the body, potentially enhancing blood flow and relaxation throughout.

We recommend 40min/session.

Patients remain fully clothed throughout their session (long sleeves and full-length trousers required).

They are helped into the suit by a technician before the systems’ air pressure and heat cables are connected to a computerised unit and the technician sets initial pressure/heat settings according to the clients needs.

Once the suit starts to inflate, patients experience a squeezing sensation which should feel similar to a hug, with no discomfort. Next, a gentle heat spreads through the suit that is designed to penetrate the body, not just the surface, to avoid overheating.

There are 22 individual chambers that inflate sequentially – each activating before the previous chamber fully deflates to deliver cyclical and consistent pressure.

The technician ensures the settings are comfortable for the client, before providing an optional eye mask and headphones to enhance fully immersive relaxation.

No, there is a sequential order.
